Brief History
York, PA was one of the nation's first capitals. It was founded in 1741 and named after the city in England. In the 19th century, papermaking, railroad manufacturing, and the steam engine industries made York and important industrial center. Pfaltzgraff company moved in during the 20th century and the first Peppermint Pattie was made in 1941. Today, York is home to companies such as York Barbell, York International, American Hydro, and the Bon-Ton. Harley Davidson, Starbucks, and BAE Systems have large facilities in York, earning York the nickname of "The Factory Tour Capital" of the World.

Education Opportunities
There are many quality learning institutions in and around York, PA. We offer free school reports if you are looking for primary or secondary education resources. The York County's Local School List is another valuable resource. In addition to these amazing school systems, York also offers quality institutions for higher learning. York College and Penn State York Campus offer four year programs. Harrisburg Area Community College has a York Campus offering two-year degrees. The Art Institute of York Pennsylvania and York Technical Institute offer specialized programs.

York Revolution Games- Cheer on the Revs, York's minor league baseball team. Ballgames are fun for children and adults!
Ski Roundtop Mountain Resort- Spend an exciting day (or weekend) at Ski Roundtop for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. In the summer, you can enjoy paintball, ropes, courses, and more!
Muddy Run Campground- Pitch a tent and spend some quality time in the great outdoors. There’s no better way to bond with friends and family than on a camping trip! Fun and affordable vacation!
High Point Park- Located in nearby Wrightsville, this beautiful scenic overlook features two breathtaking views of the Susquehanna River. Nearby Lauxmont Farms is another must-see site in this gorgeous country setting.
Lake Redman- Spend your day relaxing on this beautiful lake. Rent a boat or pack a picnic and enjoy the gorgeous scenery from the land.
John Rudy Park- Another great park! John Rudy has plenty of fun activities- volleyball, softball, hiking, walking, and plenty more!
Heritage Hills Golf Resort- Located in East York, this resort has beautiful landscapes and well-maintained greens. Attractions include mini golf, fine dining in Ironwoods, or casual food in Knickers Pub. Avalanche Xpress offers an exciting snow tubing experience for the Winter.

York Little Theatre- Perfect for the rising star, York Little Theatre engages the York community by casting members for their productions. If you aren’t interested in starring in a production, you can still enjoy the wonderful shows they put on, or take a class to fine-tune your acting skills!
Go on a Factory Tour! Nothing beats the warm chips at the end of the Martin's Potato Chip Factory Tour, or the free chocolate at the end of the Wolfgang Chocolate Factory Tour. Visit one of the manufacturing plants around York, PA to learn how it earned its nickname, "The Factory Tour Capital of the World."
Food and Dining
There are many excellent restaurants in York, PA. All your favorite chains are still here, but it's good to know about restaurants unique to the York area! Here are some of The Sold Team's favorite restaurants:
The Left Bank- Undoubtedly The Sold Team’s favorite for Fine Dining. Be sure to try the calimari (our favorite)!
Tapenade Bistro- Tucked away in Tolgate Village (Dallastown), this small restaurant features excellent food and a bright, open atmosphere. It’s always busy, so make sure you call ahead or get there early! We recommend the tuna melt special (when it's available).
Providence Divine Cakes and Pasteries- This amazing bakery is located right next to Tapenade Bistro, so you can get some delicious dessert after an amazing meal. Anything Providence bakes is delicious, but don’t leave without a slice of cake!
Brown’s Orchards and Farm Market (Loganville)- The best place for fresh produce and baked goodies. Over the years, Brown’s has grown into a huge Farm Market, and you can find all kinds of treats there. Stop by the deli and for a sandwich, but don’t leave without getting a bag of Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookies (The Sold Team’s favorite).
Mitsuru-ya- This is our top pick for sushi in York, PA. It features a brand new location, with an open kitchen and a friendly atmosphere. Our favorite sushi roll is the fried shrimp and cream cheese!
Primo’s Pizza- This is, hands down, our favorite pizza place. We don't get through Windsor without getting a slice of warm pizza from Primo's.
